Mission Buggy: Deploying Life-Saving Mobility to Eastern Ukraine

On a rainy mid-October day in The Netherlands, we received an unusual call: “Can you ASAP provide a 6×6 vehicle, preferably a buggy with a loading space?” Our response was an unequivocal “Yes,” accompanied by the determination to act swiftly. The purpose? Execution of MEDEVAC missions to retrieve wounded soldiers from the front lines and save lives.

And thus, Mission Buggy was born. We identified one a partners capable of speedy delivery. By early November, the formidable buggy arrived – a 6×6 powerhouse with a robust engine, and automatic transmission, tailor-made for the mission at hand.

Planning the journey to Ukraine presented its own set of challenges, navigating immediate needs and evolving regulations for humanitarian aid entry. Undeterred, we overcame administrative and technical hurdles, loading the buggy onto an enclosed trailer. Channelling our expertise as professional car sales and movers 😁, we embarked on a challenging journey to the east of Ukraine.

Facing a formidable road ahead, characterised by a heavy snowstorm, icy roads, prolonged border crossings, and thick fog, we pressed on. Despite the adversities, we reached our final destination in the east of Ukraine as planned.

The true reward came in the form of the joyous faces of soldiers and combat medics. Our mission, driven by the primary goal of saving lives, took on profound significance amidst the slipping focus on war in the heart of Europe.
