OCCULTOR: VIS-NIR-TIR modular suit with reversible camouflage.

The OCCULTOR is a VIS-NIR-TIR multispectral, anti-drone counter-thermal modular suit by ProApto, whose core configuration is optimised for reconnaissance missions and extended ground movement; it uses fabric of 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm and is reversible with 2 camouflage patterns.

Key Facts:

  • Camouflage spectrum: VIS-NIR-TIR

  • Core configuration: jacket, detachable hood with 3D net grid, 2 leg covers

  • Fabric thickness: 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm

  • Camouflage sides: reversible, 2 patterns

  • Pattern choice: 18 ProApto 2D designs, 12 ProApto 3D patterns

  • Shelf life: no expiry date

  • Záruka: 9 years (ProApto)

  • Made in: Italy

    Modular configuration:

The core configuration of the OCCULTOR consists of a jacket with a detachable hood that carries a net grid for 3D camouflage, together with two leg covers. ProApto optimised this configuration for reconnaissance missions and extended movement on the ground. A 3D version is also available, which ProApto describes as mostly suited to a defensive posture and wooded areas.

    Camouflage and fabric:

ProApto describes the OCCULTOR as breathable and not insulating, so it provides thermal camouflage without trapping the wearer's heat. The fabric is 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm thick, silent, washable and suitable for amphibious operations, and natural vegetation can be applied to it. The suit is double sided with 2 different camouflage patterns and can be produced in any pattern, including ProApto's 18 2D designs and 12 3D patterns. ProApto states that the camouflage has no expiry date.

    What is included:

In its core configuration the OCCULTOR comprises the jacket, the detachable hood with the 3D net grid and two leg covers. There is no mounting hardware; the suit is worn over the user's clothing and equipment. MSS Defence agrees the configuration and pattern with the end user before quotation.

    Difference from the RECONDOR:

The OCCULTOR is a suit with jacket, hood and leg covers made from fabric of 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm. The RECONDOR in the same ProApto range is a cloak of 2.16 m x 1.26 m plus hood, worn over the soldier's gear, with fabric of 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm.

    Manufacturer and supply:

ProApto is a brand established in 2015 with its management in Dublin, Ireland, and it states that its products are entirely made in Italy. MSS Defence is a Dutch supplier that provides ProApto camouflage on quotation, with one point of contact from enquiry to delivery.

    Intended use:

ProApto designed the core configuration of the OCCULTOR for reconnaissance missions and extended ground movement, and the 3D version for a defensive posture and wooded areas. MSS Defence supplies the OCCULTOR to military and police end users.
