Protection in conjunction with soft armour:

The S-LW-ICW is an 'in conjunction with' plate: it reaches its rated protection only with NIJ IIIA soft armour worn behind it. In that combination PGD states it stops six 7.62 mm NATO M80 rounds at 847 ± 9.1 m/s under NIJ 0101.06, six 5.56×45 mm M193 rounds at 960 ± 10 m/s and six 7.62×39 mm MSC rounds at 730 ± 10 m/s.

The plate is made of high-end polyethylene pressed in PGD's European factory, and PGD describes it as the thinnest and lightest hard armour plate it has produced. It is SAPI-cut at 10 x 12 in (30 x 25 cm) and multi-curved for a closer fit. A Cordura cover, described by PGD as abrasion- and cut-resistant, protects the plate against heat, cold, water, oil and drops.

Pairing with PGD DELTA soft armour:

PGD lists its DELTA soft armour panel, tested to NIJ 0101.04 Level IIIA, as the matching accessory for this plate. The DELTA panel is available in a 250 x 300 mm SAPI cut, the same format as the 30 x 25 cm S-LW-ICW.

What is included:

You receive one plate in its Cordura cover; PGD sells plates as single pieces, not pairs. The required NIJ IIIA soft armour is not included and must be ordered separately.
