The Berserker Level IV plate is tested to NIJ 0101.06 against one .30 cal 166 gr M2AP round at 878 ± 9.1 m/s; PGD also lists 7.62 mm NATO M80 at 847 m/s, 7.62×39 mm MSC (M43) at 725 m/s and 5.56×45 mm SS109 at 950 m/s as special threats. The Level III plate stops six 7.62 mm NATO M80 rounds at 847 ± 9.1 m/s under NIJ 0101.06, six 7.62×39 mm MSC rounds at 725 m/s, six 5.56×45 mm SS109/M855 rounds at 950 m/s and three 7.62×39 mm API-BZ rounds at 715 m/s.

Both versions combine a hexagonal alumina (Al2O3) ceramic strike face with a polyethylene backer. PGD states the lower price comes from the slightly heavier alumina, not from lower protection. A thin foam layer on the front and edges shields the ceramic from knocks and drops, PGD states the plate offers edge-to-edge protection, and a heat-sealed Cordura cover keeps water, oil and other fluids off the plate. The plate is SAPI-cut, 10 x 12 in (30 x 25 cm) and single-curved.

Level III or Level IV:

The Level III Berserker weighs 2.5 kg and is 30 mm thick; the Level IV Berserker weighs 3.4 kg. The Level IV version adds protection against .30 cal M2AP armour-piercing rounds; the Level III version carries tested multi-shot figures, such as six M80 rounds, and stops 7.62×39 mm API-BZ.

What is included:

You receive one plate in its heat-sealed Cordura cover; PGD sells its plates as single pieces, not pairs. A plate carrier is not included; PGD lists the TQR 2.0 plate carrier as a separate accessory.
